Ice cream (requires cooking)
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup whole milk
- 3/4 cup sweetened condensed milk
- 1/2 cup half-n-half
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 3/4 cup flavor (i.e. peanut butter, hot fudge, etc)
- beat sugar and eggs with electric mixer for about 3 minutes, set aside
- in a saucepan, bring milk to a simmer over low heat
- gradually whisk in egg mixture
- cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until thick enough to coat the back of a metal spoon
- do not boil
- remove from heat and whisk in flavoring
- whisk in the remaining ingredients (sweetened condensed milk, half-n-half, vanilla)
- refrigerate until chilled
- pour into ice cream maker, church until ready
